The Road (2009)
The Road is big-screen adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s best-selling, Pulitzer Prize-winning novel “The Road.” A post-apocalyptic tale of a man and his son struggling to survive by any means possible. A devastating cataclysm has destroyed the civilization, obscured the sun and left the planet almost devoid of all life. It’s cold and there is just ash moving on wind and water. They move towards the warmer south although they don’t know what awaits them there. Aware of all the perils they will have to face, the man carries a pistol with two bullets in case they have to defend themselves against the cannibalistic bands. The man recalls the events before the catastrophe and his dead wife. Despite all difficulties he tries to maintain his own sense of morality and humanity and instill those values to his young son.
